From the age of six, Benjamin Maneyrol embarked on a musical journey deeply rooted in classical traditions. Growing up in a household immersed in classical music, with a mother devoted to the genre and a family on the paternal side filled with amateur musicians, Benjamin had an early exposure to the rich world of melodies and harmonies. An aesthetic revelation at eight, attending a percussion concert featuring works by Xenakis, marked the beginning of a profound connection with contemporary music that would shape Benjamin's future.

The decision to pursue a professional career in music crystallized later, following an exploration of the diverse facets of the musical world. He aspired to become a musician, setting the stage for a remarkable journey into the realm of clarinet performance. Early inspirations include great clarinet players such as Alain Damiens and Ernesto Molinari, both imparting their knowledge and techniques. These influences have played a crucial role in shaping Benjamin's musical identity.

For Benjamin, music is an integral part of life, serving as both a driving force and a source of nourishment. The profound connection with emotions and feelings has motivated Benjamin to dedicate a career to contemporary music, acting as a conduit for composers to share their visions and messages with the world. Acknowledgments from prominent composers such as Francesco Filidei, Michael Jarrell, Toshio Hosokawa, Mark Andre, Yann Robin, Tristan Murail and many others underscore Benjamin's exceptional clarinet playing.

Benjamin continues to be a dynamic force in the world of clarinet performance, pushing boundaries, and contributing to the evolution of contemporary music. He has been actively involved in collaborations with composers, emphasizing the incorporation of innovative clarinet techniques. He has premiered more than 200 new work at this day and still going on.

Specialized in contemporary music, Benjamin exhibits a versatile range, seamlessly traversing different branches of the genre. Meticulous exploration of extended techniques beyond traditional norms has led him to develop a unique voice, inspiring future generations of musicians. As a clarinetist, Benjamin effortlessly maneuvers across all clarinets, spanning from sopranino to contrabass. Additionally, he has ventured into performing arts, experimenting with theater, small percussion instruments, and electronic music.

He has performed in many festivals, amongst them ArsMusica in Belgium, Biennale of Venice, NuovaConsonanza in Italy, Afekt Festival in Estonia, Impuls and ISAFestival in Austria, ReMusik in Russia, DME in Portugal, IMD Darmstadt in Germany; and in famous venues such as Bozar, Flagey, Opera Gent, Arsenale de Metz, Opéra de Lille, Auditorium national de Lyon, CentroCultural do Belem, Schoenberg Center. He has been invited in many european countries : Austria, Estonia, Italy, Latvia, United Kingdom, Spain, Portugal, Germany, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Poland.
 

Benjamin has released many recordings : four with ensemble Fractales (labels Neos, Cypres, Soond, Kairos); the CD "S'élancer",with label Cypres, from ensemble Sturm und Klang which has been elected recording of the year in 2023 in Belgium; the collection for the 60 years of ensemble Musiques Nouvelles (label Cypres).
